Currently being established in Melbourne, the Zoe Belle Gender Centre (ZBGC) will be a centre to support and improve the health and wellbeing of people of all genders. At present, the centre is based in the heart of Melbourne’s city centre at the City Village building. Seahorse Victoria fully supports the aim and aspirations of the centre.
ZBGC is being established by a crew of people called the ZBGC Working Group.
The vision of the ZBGC is for a society that values people of all sex and gender identities and expressions
They aim to support and improve the health and wellbeing of people of all genders and view health holistically to assist, inform, enliven and advocate for our communities.
The ZBGC IS named in tribute to a former member of the Working Group, the late Zoe Belle.
Zoe was passionate about rights for trans* and gender variant people, and wanted to make a difference in the world. But she wasn’t just interested in one issue: Zoe saw the big picture, and was also committed to disability rights, queer rights, feminist politics, independent arts and anti-violence work.
What They Do
1 Provide support, information and referrals
2 Run events, workshops and campaigns to inform, enliven and strengthen our communities
3 Host groups and services that are complementary to our Mission
4 Improve the healthcare of trans* and gender variant people
5 Advocate and educate about issues of gender diversity
